Accessibility Roadmap

Effective 2026-07-31

This roadmap identifies StudySite's planned accessibility evidence and improvement work. Dates are target windows, not representations of completed conformance. Material changes and schedule contingencies will be recorded here.

By August 15, 2026 — release candidate evidence

  • Deploy persistent text-size, high-contrast, and reduced-motion preferences to staging.
  • Run public and authenticated WCAG 2.1 AA axe coverage against the exact staging release.
  • Complete keyboard-only, 200%/400% zoom and reflow, reduced-motion, and high-contrast checks for the public site, Settings, dashboard, learning canvas, and core instructor workflows.
  • Publish the initial 1EdTech Accessibility Rubric evidence matrix and disclose unresolved findings.

By September 15, 2026 — manual assistive-technology review

  • Complete VoiceOver plus Safari and VoiceOver plus Chrome review of authentication, navigation, settings, learning, and reporting.
  • Remediate release-blocking keyboard, name/role/value, focus-order, reading-order, caption/transcript, and reflow findings.
  • Document accessible alternatives for third-party or embedded workflows that cannot be remediated directly by StudySite.

By October 31, 2026 — independent evidence

  • Engage a qualified accessibility reviewer and native assistive-technology users for representative student and instructor workflows.
  • Publish an Accessibility Conformance Report using the current applicable VPAT edition and record all partial-support findings.
  • Establish documented role-based accessibility training and accessibility expectations for subcontracted product work.

Continuous work

  • Keep automated accessibility checks in the staging release gate.
  • Review high-priority accessibility reports during release planning and communicate workarounds and remediation targets.
  • Re-evaluate the 1EdTech Accessibility Rubric and conformance report at least annually and after material interface changes.

Contingencies

A critical accessibility barrier blocks promotion of the affected workflow unless an equivalent accessible route is verified and communicated. Third-party defects are escalated to the provider while StudySite documents and maintains an alternative wherever practical. Independent-review availability may move the October target; any change will be dated on this page rather than silently removed.
